One important exception

If it is a brand new build, you may need a different service

Move-in cleaning assumes ordinary residue from ordinary living. New construction is a different problem.

Construction dust is fine enough to settle inside vents, on top of door frames, into window tracks, behind trim and along the tops of cabinets. It keeps resurfacing for days after the first clean, which is why a post-construction clean is scoped to repeat passes rather than a single one.

Where a builder has already carried out a thorough final clean and what remains is ordinary dust, a move-in clean is fine. If you are not sure which you are looking at, text us a couple of photos of the window tracks and the tops of the door frames — that is usually enough to tell.

What is the difference between move-in cleaning and a deep clean?

The scope overlaps heavily. The difference is access: a move-in clean happens in an empty property, so the whole floor, every closet interior, all the baseboards and the backs of rooms are reachable. A deep clean in a furnished home is worked around whatever is in the way. If the property is empty, the move-in version gets more done for the same effort.

When should I schedule it?

After you have the keys and before the movers arrive — that window is the entire point. Even a single day of it standing empty is enough. If your closing or lease start and your moving day are the same day, tell us, because that changes what is realistic and we would rather plan for it than discover it on site.

The previous occupant already had it cleaned. Do I still need this?

Often yes, and not because their cleaner did a poor job. A move-out clean is done to satisfy an inspection; a move-in clean is done so you are comfortable putting your things away in it. Cabinet interiors, appliance interiors, closet shelving and vents are the areas most commonly still wanting attention.

Can you clean before I take possession?

Only if you can arrange access. In practice that means after closing, or after your lease begins, unless the seller, builder or leasing office has explicitly authorised entry and can let us in.

Is this the right service for a brand new build?

Usually not on its own. New construction leaves fine drywall and sanding dust in vents, on ledges, in tracks and behind trim, and it keeps resurfacing for days. That is a post-construction clean. If the builder has already done a thorough final clean and it is genuinely just dusty, a move-in clean may be enough.

Do you clean inside the refrigerator and oven?

Yes, both are standard in a move-in clean. They are among the main reasons the service exists — nobody wants to put food into a refrigerator somebody else left behind.
